Hi everyone!!! My name is Ebony. I lllloooovvveeee DANCE!!!
I have been dancing since I was five years old. I danced with Christian Academy for the Performing Arts (CAPA) in Temple Hills, MD. In May 2012, I received my Bachelors of Arts in Dance from the University of Maryland, College Park. I am now a graduate student at American University for a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Performing Arts. And, can you guess which performing art?… DANCE, OF COURSE!!!
I have been teaching and choreographing dance since 2008. I currently teach and choreograph for CAPA and I choreograph for my former high school, From the Heart Christian School in Suitland, MD. I most recently performed in UMD MFA candidate Shannon Dooling’s thesis entitled “Like A Unicorn In Captivity.”
As you might be able to tell, I want to become a dance teacher, if I’m not already one now. I am always reading and researching about the various ways to teach dance and information about dance in general. I hope to create ways of teaching that will benefit my students in unique ways and can be used to help other dance teachers as others have helped me.
